What to do in case of an accident?
What to do if you got into an accident on a rented Vladex car in Kazakhstan?
5 Steps for a rental car accident:
- Assess the situation. First, make sure everyone is safe and no one is injured. Install a warning triangle 3-5 meters from the car. If there are casualties, immediately call 112 and report the accident. If the victim’s condition is serious, move to a safe place near the scene of the accident. Notify Vladex about what happened.
- Call your manager. Use the Vladeks emergency phone number, which is located on the windshield of your car, to report an accident. Tell everything that happened at the time of the accident, tell your location. Write down the number and name of the manager serving you at this moment, as well as any recommendations that he will give you as a result of the conversation.
- Gather as much useful information as possible about the accident. Take photo/video footage of the accident site and damage to both vehicles. Ask the other participant in the accident to provide his documents (driver’s license, vehicle registration certificate, insurance policy) for review, take photos. Try to find witnesses to the accident and write about it on a blank sheet of paper or record a video interview.
- Take care of the car. You are responsible for the car during the entire rental period. If the car is on the move, and the Vladex manager has allowed further movement, you should go to the office of the lessor company to fill out an application for an accident and fix the damage together with the company manager, unless the company manager agreed to continue the trip until the end of the rental period . In the event that the vehicle cannot be operated independently, you should notify the manager and ask for evacuation from the scene. At the same time, the costs associated with the transportation of a damaged car are covered by the lessee.
- Submit a report to the rental company. In the accident report, you should describe the details of the accident, fix the damage to the vehicle, indicate the data of other participants in the accident. You can read the Vladex accident report here.

Who pays after a rental car accident?
If you are at fault in a rental car accident, what happens next will depend on the insurance you have.
You have purchased collision insurance from a car rental company (extended CASCO).
If you have purchased a collision waiver (extended CASCO), you are covered. Unless the accident is due to careless driving or a breach of the rental agreement, the disclaimer transfers most of the cost of repairing or replacing the vehicle to the rental company. Remember, however, that the damages waiver does not cover liability for medical expenses or property for you or others involved in the accident. To do this, you will have to rely on your personal insurance or the additional liability coverage of the car rental company.
Do you already have insurance?
Most personal insurance policies cover rent, but definitely double check the coverage limit and deductible. If your policy covers car rentals, you are insured for both collision and liability, up to the limits of your coverage.
Are you not insured?
But not more than the amount of the deposit left by you in the company earlier, except in cases of direct violation of traffic rules or a vehicle rental agreement that resulted in an accident.
If you are not at fault, we will work directly with the insurance company of the other driver and protect you to the maximum from paperwork associated with the registration of the incident.
